It all started when... Shalyah was five years old and heard her three -year-old sister sing,Igniting A Flame inside. 

Sixteen-year-old Shalyah is the daughter of Crystal Thomas-Fearing and Darron Fearing Second oldest of eight siblings: four girls and four boys.

Shalyah has been homeschooled for the past ten years and takes FLVS online courses.

Shalyah has been singing since age five and has always been quite the actor. She is a powerhouse singer with a natural coo and rasp to her voice. At age 10 she started music and voice lessons at Music Matter’s in New Port Richey,FL. Then attended The Patel Conservatory after receiving a scholarship. At the Patel, Shalyah and her three other siblings were in multiple rock bands and several musical theater productions. Favorite roles include Ursula in The Little Mermaid, Becky in The Little Princess, and both The Dragon and Mama Orge in Shrek.

Once she turned 15 she was ready to audition for Season 10 of The Voice in Atlanta where she was among 40,000 hopeful singers auditioning nationwide. Shalyah was selected for a call back and the rest is history. She received a chair turn at her Blind audition by Christina Aguilera,and was stolen by Pharrell Williams at the Battle Rounds. She was then stolen by Adam Levine in the Knockout rounds and remaining on his team to the Top 8 semifinals.

Prior to The Voice, Shalyah had won many talent shows:

-Tarpon Springs Idol competition: first place, singing Whitney Houston's "One Moment In Time".

-Pasco Hernando College talent show: second place with the song "Listen" by Beyonce. 

- In 2014 She was named the Teen Sensation at the Unifest Multicultural festival in Broward County. She won first place by singing "I Will Always Love You" Whitney Houston's version.

Acting, writing stories and short poems are in her arsenal of talent.
